I’ve been baking professionally for 24 years. In the past year, I’ve made the decision to do more “No Sugar Added” baking as both my husband and I are Type II Diabetics. If you are a diabetic, of course, diet is important – controlled amount of carbohydrates – a diet of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, protein sources, and whole grain foods. So in keeping with this, I had seen the advertisement on television for Multi-Grain Cheerios. Ah, ha, I thought – I love Cheerios, this will be great – more grains in my daily diet. So I bought a box. The next morning, poured a bowl of cereal, put on the milk and took a bite. What a surprise! The d*** cereal is sugar coated. Shame on you General Mills!!! How can you sell a cereal as multi-grain healthy with a sugar coating? Need I say more?
