I’ve been making jewelry for about seven years now. I take classes at our local community college. We have a great instructor who lets us push our limits and guides us along the way, once we have learned the basics. I am fortunate to have a studio of my own.
I work primarily in sterling silver. I use some faceted stones, but generally use cabochons I have purchased from people I know or dealers I have come to know at our local rock shows. My favorite stone to work with is turquoise, but I also work with nephrite jade, carnelian, different agates and jaspers. I love getting an unusal stone – shape or color or both, and making it into a piece of jewelry.
I’ve been selling my jewelry at Farmers Markets for the past six years. I also do limited repair work and some custom design work. I am currently working on a ring with Montana sapphire. I love the entire aspect of making a piece of jewelry, from designing to completion!
